For spaces interested in becoming a long term welcoming space
Places of Welcome is a growing network of local community groups providing their neighbourhoods with places where all people feel safe to connect, belong and contribute. You can register your space as a Place of Welcome and access resources to support you and your team using the link below.

The Great Get Together

For those spaces that want to do a big one-off community event
The Great Get Together inspired by Jo Cox MP, brings together communities to celebrate what unites us to bridge divides and to tackle loneliness.Each summer hundreds of Great Get Together events across the UK take place on the weekend closest to Jo’s birthday (23-25 June 2023) for communities to reject division and celebrate her message that we have more in common than that which divides us.

Linking Lives UK

For spaces interested in longer term befriending
Linking Lives UK supports churches to establish befriending schemes in which volunteers visit or telephone those in need of extra company and support.The charity has also recently developed a two-hour webinar called ‘Good Conversations’ which is aimed at volunteers operating in settings such as drop-in centres, lunch clubs and community cafes.

Selce and Community Energy England

For spaces who wish to engage in long term solutions to energy costs
Selce and Community Energy England are a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping community energy organisations create and implement new projects. Community energy is about enabling communities to take democratic control over their own energy by generating, using and saving energy for their local ear. Transforming Lives for Good

For spaces who want to support children and families over the holidays (particularly aimed at churches)
Transforming Lives for Good are running their Make Lunch initiative, enabling and equipping churches to bring hope to struggling children through holiday lunch clubs. Through TLG Make Lunch, your church can provide vital support to some of the most vulnerable children in your community and, in addition, build relationships with families in desperate need of loving support. The Reading Agency

For those spaces that want to support children and families
Do you have a number of children in your community up for a challenge? The Reading Agency are challenging children to get reading over the Summer! The theme for this year's Summer Reading Challenge is 'Ready, Set, Read!' Delivered in partnership with national children's charity the Youth Sport Trust and public libraries, this year's Summer Reading Challenge aims to keep children's minds and bodies active over the summer break, empowering young people to forge new connections with others and unleash the power of play, sport and physical activity through reading
