Frodsham Bee Friends offer a Warm Welcome Space for people living in Frodsham, a small town in North Cheshire, which has a large population of older people. Their purpose can be summarised in the words of their motto, Bee Friends. It’s about bringing people together; making connections; creating networks. The intention is not to set up new organisations or structures but to serve as a bridge between other local groups and individuals.

Frodsham Bee Friends had a cracking Warm Welcome Week! Iris Keating, Treasurer and Steering Group Member for Frodsham Bee Friends, shares the experience.

“Our Bee Creatives are at it again! Our super enthusiastic knitters, sewers and crocheters decided that last year was so successful, they would like to do it again and produce a gift for each person attending Frodsham Bee Friends, a gift that would help them keep warm. So, they crafted hats, gloves, scarves, hot water bottles, mug cosies, socks and they produced 80 of these.”

Sharing a Co-op Cuppa

“At our second ‘Keeping Warm morning’ where these gifts were distributed, we enjoyed our Co-op Cuppas, and we talked about the importance of keeping warm.”

“To say that this session was a success is a huge understatement. One person described the atmosphere as party-like. Many people were very moved at being given such beautiful handmade gifts. The Bee Creative team were thanked for organising such a wonderful event and for their generosity.”
