"Books & a Brew!", Welland's Social Space and Library
A place to meet up with friends, and also access useful services including Worcestershire Libraries, is located in Welland Village Hall. Serving people in Welland and the surrounding villages including the Hanleys, "Books & a Brew!" is Welland's Social Space and Library. It offers a lovely space to meet up with friends for a coffee, and also to access important services without having to travel to Malvern or Upton. On offer all year round is a "Help yourself" table of free hot & cold drinks & biscuits, free high speed wifi, popular free "Magazine Swap" table, kids colouring activities, lego and board games, and access to most of Worcestershire library's services (you can even return books that you have borrowed from any of the other libraries in Worcestershire). In addition, through the year, there is a programme of special events, including activities and competitions for children, and also valuable opportunities to access useful services right here within the village, such as those provided by Citizen's Advice, Age UK and West Mercia Police. Information about these will be available on the Parish Council website's News page and its Facebook site as well as on posters on the village hall and village notice board next to the shop. All are welcome at Books & a Brew! - you don't have to be a member of Worcestershire Libraries to come along. Dogs on leads also welcome. Open weekly M 2.30-4.30pm, W 8.30-12.30pm, Th 10am-12pm & monthly 10am-12pm on 3rd Sat. Closed Bank Hols & Christmas week. Worcs library services available, also hot & cold drinks, cake/biscuits, kids colouring activities, & free magazine swap table.
