Cariad Corner - Warm Hearts, Fresh Starts

Cariad Corner, our community ran café is an extension of our Recovery Hub and ran as a volunteer led community café. Cariad Corner offers warm drinks, snacks and basic meals. Partnering with agencies that we already have good relationships with, we have extended our current program of activities in the Recovery Hub to include activities undertaken at Cariad Corner including: Healthy food and cooking workshops with local food banks, incorporating education around basic meal preparation and how to best utilise ingredients and items from their food bank Nutrition, Healthy Living and exercise workshops with Energee, including food motivation techniques Lived experience volunteer pathway training opportunities in regard to hospitality and health and social care with Derbyshire County Council Adult Education Running Multiply and Brightside adult learning courses, incorporating maths skills into cooking and supported learning with healthy cooking on a budget for adults with learning disabilities Neurodiverse Cooking sessions, education and support around neurodiversity and eating Family based cookery sessions incorporating locality grown and sourced ingredients encouraging open and honest communication and increasing connection and many more activities throughout the year
