Orchard Trust Stowfield
The Orchard Trust’s Stowfield site, set in the Forest of Dean, offers a unique, inclusive environment for adults with learning disabilities through a Day Service, Therapy Suite, and a community-accessible Smallholding. Everyone is welcome to come to our site. We have a number of different care homes across the Forest of Dean. Our Stowfield site is home to a smallholding including animals and horticulture, along with fully trained staff, changing places, accessible paths and a warm community room where we run regular events. Our smallholding can be accessed by the local community, our clients and any visitors. It offers an activity park, an encounter barn, a rabbitarium, a sensory garden, therapeutic animals interactions, a productive allotment, an orchard, a covered outdoor space to rest, and various activity areas. We regularly run coffee mornings, film nights and larger festivals on our site for clients and the wider community. In addition to our dedicated staff, a number of local volunteers help us to maintain and develop the site. We also offer a variety of our site facilities for external hire, including Therapy Suite, the Day Service’s canteen area, the sensory room, a kiln, the outdoor site, fields and workshop.
