About this space

Together, the Community Fridge and Pantry Sheds create a warm, dignified accessible food support network for Stornoway North - built on trust, kindness and the belief that everyone deserves access to good food and a welcoming space, while promoting the ethos of not letting fresh food go to waste. The Community Fridge focuses on fresh surplus, the Pantry Sheds provide steady, reliable stock — the kind of everyday items people need to keep meals going. They operate on a friendly, fair‑use basis: no referrals, no barriers, just neighbours supporting neighbours. Just take what you need and give when you can. The Pantry Sheds are an extension of the Community Fridge, offering a cosy, practical space where families can pick up essential cupboard items. Designed to be simple, accessible and community‑run. The Pantry Shed's provide tins, pasta, cereals, toiletries, baby items and other staples that help households stretch their weekly budget. The Pantry Shed's are always open and accessible for those who need to use, as opposed to the Community Fridge only open once a month.
