About this space

**SPACE OPENING ON 17th October 2026** For the past six years, the Silver Age Project has proudly delivered a Warm Welcome Space in partnership with Harrow Council, providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive hub for older people. Our aim is to reduce isolation, create meaningful relationships, and foster a strong sense of belonging within the local community. Our Warm Welcome Space is open weekly throughout the colder months, offering a warm, comfortable environment where older adults, particularly those on low incomes or struggling to heat their homes, can spend time, socialise, and take part in a range of free activities. These include gentle physical exercise sessions, educational workshops on topics such as energy-saving tips and healthy eating, digital skills training to help people stay connected, and fun group quizzes that encourage friendship and wellbeing. Over the past six years, we have supported more than 1,000 older adults, many from underserved communities, including people living with disabilities or long-term health conditions. We work closely with Harrow Council to distribute warm packs during the winter and provide complimentary hot drinks and biscuits at every session, ensuring everyone feels welcome and cared for. In addition to offering a warm space, we provide practical support by helping older residents access cheaper energy tariffs, apply for assistance from energy suppliers, and connect with local authority support schemes. Our Warm Welcome Space is much more than a heated venue—it is a trusted community hub that helps older people stay warm, improve their wellbeing, build lasting friendships, and access the support they need to live independently.
