About this space

Our Warm Welcome Space is a vibrant community hub where people come in from the cold – practically and emotionally – and leave feeling warmer, calmer and more connected. It is free, inclusive and non‑judgemental, open to anyone who needs a safe place to be, whether they are facing the cost of living crisis, digital exclusion, loneliness or all three at once. The atmosphere is intentionally homely rather than clinical: there is always a hot drink, a friendly greeting and someone ready to sit down and listen without rushing. Guests can simply rest and chat, or they can take part in activities, get practical advice, and build skills. A distinctive feature of our space is our integrated digital support offer – people bring in phones, laptops and letters they are worried about, and receive patient, one‑to‑one help to access essential online services, benefits, health, housing, work and learning. Over time, our space has become a trusted anchor in the community. People are referred to us by local agencies when digital barriers, money worries or isolation are blocking progress, because they know they will be met with warmth, dignity and expert support. Many guests go on to volunteer, help others with digital tasks, or contribute to running activities, so the hub is powered by the same people it supports. Our Warm Welcome Space is not just somewhere to keep warm; it is a place where people rediscover confidence, friendship and a sense of belonging.
