Veolia Merseyside and Halton Warm Welcome Space

Veolia's Warm Welcome Space launches on 22 January, in Gillmoss Recycling Discovery Centre, where Veolia delivers essential recycling and waste treatment operations. The Warm Welcome Space is completely free and open to anyone in need of a safe, warm place or community connection. Visitors will find hot drinks, food, career cafés, and access to local support. With games and activities for all ages, the spaces also help to combat isolation, as well as ensuring access to essential resources and advice. The site will offer unique activities to deliver on Veolia’s responsibility as an environmental champion, so visitors can expect to take away practical and sustainable skills to support them beyond the winter sessions. In Gillmoss, this includes board games and access to our aerial viewing walkway, where you can learn what you can recycle at home to help you Recycle Right, what is contamination - that is the wrong things put in the recycling bins. Finally, see the Journey of recycling from your home to its final destination. Gillmoss’s Warm Welcome Space will be held on Thursdays at Gillmoss Recycling Discovery Centre, Bridghouse Lane, L10 5HA. There is no prior registration required; visitors can simply turn up on the day and be welcomed in. The local space will be held between 10am and 12noon to provide a supportive mid morning hub where residents of all ages can receive relief from isolation as they gather, share drinks and snacks, and maintain social connections during the challenging winter period.
